A long-lasting shift of perspective

This program is not simply about resume and cover letter writing, although we will do a lot of that together. Right at the start, a significant portion of time is devoted to exploring your workplace and life values - giving you a deeper self-awareness, that will make your job applications come across much stronger, and your career path have a direction that's meaningful to you.

I will also coach you in how to communicate and behave at job interviews, a useful skill that you'll be able to apply not only during future career changes, but at salary reviews and during general work meetings as well.

Uniquely qualified to help you

I started as a software developer in 2007 - I've designed and created games, simulations, websites and mobile apps, managed multi-national projects, taught at universities, and mentored junior developers. I will apply my diverse experience to advise you on your resume and project portfolio and to practice interview questions with you.

I also have formal education and experience as a counsellor, with focus on helping professionals with career and with anxiety. I will apply evidence-based career counselling techniques during our work together and I am able to offer career advice and counselling support beyond this program if that's what you need.

A personal touch

Your career is important and unique to you, and I want to acknowledge and celebrate that. The program begins with a comprehensive intake and exploration phase, so that I can learn about your career goals and tailor my counselling approach to you specifically.

There are two one-on-one career counselling sessions included in the price of the program. During these sessions, we will look at your resume and cover letter, discuss your communication style, practice an interview together and explore what usually makes you anxious during the job application process. The sessions are done virtually, last 60 minutes each and you can book them at times that suit you - I have mornings, afternoons and evenings available.

In addition, I offer on-going support via chat, phone and email.

The program in detail

Minimum total time that you'll need to commit is 18 hours, split between as little as 4 days. Most people spend about 25 hours in the program over a few weeks.

There are 26 modules to complete, organized into the following sections:

"You and your goals": Complete worksheets that will help you set your job search course and stay on it
"Improving your resume": Perfect your resume content and style
"Writing your cover letter": Learn how to talk about yourself to hiring teams
"Resume and cover letter review": Meet with me to explore your career goals and review your resume and cover letter
"Mastering a job interview": Get advice on how to show up confidently, authentically and professionally to interviews
"Interview practice": Meet with me again to practice for a job interview of your choice and explore unhelpful thoughts that you may be having about your skills, personality and self-worth
